Tips to Make Your Installation a Success

Start with an empty fire pit.

Important!  Make sure that you are in accordance with your local codes regarding the installation of a gas burner.  Exotic Flames bears no responsibility for your actions.  These instructions are a general guideline on how to install Aquatic Glassel in your fire pit.  If you purchase a burner from us and find that it violates your local building codes, we will gladly refund the cost of the burner (minus shipping) as long as the burner has not been used.  Keep in mind that a natural gas burner IS NOT the same as a propane burner and CANNOT be used interchangeably.  Please be aware of this when ordering your burner from Exotic Flames.

Please make sure the holes are facing downward in your fire pit burner (applies to natural gas).  Do light the burner after connecting it and check for adequate flame.  If you have a weak flame, chances are that your feed line is not large enough.  Now is a good time to find that out!  Correct that before adding lava rock.

If you use a filler (i.e. lava rock) you should use finely crushed lava rock (pea size).  This will allow the glass to sit on top of it and allow the gas to well up and then ignite.  If you need to change the burner for any reason, take care not to create large air pockets as it may cause flare ups while the fire is burning.  Stacking some bricks in the shape of a flat top pyramid may be helpful to create more height without having to buy additional glass.

Pour Aquatic Glassel in the fire pit.  Then move and shape it to your liking.  Turn on the gas, use a long match or lighter to ignite it and sit back and enjoy.
